Safer Than Salt™ is formulated using a blend of 25% Calcium Chloride and Magnesium Chloride. Both Calcium Chloride and Magnesium Chloride are widely regarded as being the most effective ice melt material on the market. Many blends on the market, even national brands, use less than 10% high performance chemicals. Safer Than Salt™ packaging utilizes heavy-duty plastic film to better protect the product and to convey to the consumer the image of quality and safety. We are Safer Than Salt™ because: 1. We melt more than twice as much snow and ice as rock salt, which means the consumer only uses half as much material to remove snow and ice as confirmed in independent tests. 2. We melt as significantly lower temperatures. 3. We melt significantly faster than rock salt, particularly during the first 10 minutes of application.
